JEM Library is built with Jewelry Making and Craft in mind. Free information, free links and tips - in an organized way.

This started off as a personal journey. I was tired of always looking up information I had already researched months before but could no longer find. And as I do have a penchant for trying to capture and organize information that I find useful and interesting, the JEMLibrary site was conceived.

As the time of the birth of this site, my main interest (here) is about jewelry making in its many expanding forms and in certain crafts. (There is only so much time in a day!) My current obsession (apart from the never-ending one with crystals, beads, bling, and jewelry making) is felting. Needle Felting. Knit Felting. And I have no doubt it won't end there!

I have had a life-long interest in crafty things even when it felt as if no one around me was of like mind. Nowadays there is an explosion of interest that oftentimes it is not loneliness I feel but awe at the number of 'ordinary' people who have taken their creative talents out of the closets and are continuously amazing themselves and the world with their hereto to hidden talents.

Strangely enough I still don't have anyone IRL who is into these things as I am. But on the internet and forums and artisan sites, I am constantly humbled and inspired by the amount of unending talent that is out there.

Also at the time of this writing, I still have another (similar) site (the old JEMLibrary) up and running. Some of the information there is overlapped here as I am in the year-long process of manually migrating that information over to this site. Meanwhile this site continues to gather new information that is not found at the old site. I estimate that by mid 2010 I should have completed my migration and then the old JemLibrary can be closed down for good. (exclusive hosting too expensive)
